VATS/Passlock problem

Hey guys I don't post here much but I'm having the dreaded anti theft issues. Truck is an 05 lly with previously installed autostart that functions as it should. Lately the trucks anti theft light will intermittently illuminate depending on the day. Have no issues starting at this time but I want to be proactive about the issue.


I have recently replaced the gauge cluster with a rebuilt unit and have installed a new clock spring/harness. Is there any way to bypass the whole system reliably? And if not, how do I even start trouble shooting the issue? Thanks in advance

The easiest way is to have it turned off in the tune.

I have the same problem, mine is a short in the wiring along the steering column, I can actually trigger the security passlock light by either moving the steering column while driving or going over rough roads will sometimes do it too. from what I've read you can cut a certain wire in the wiring harness on column or have it turned off in tune
