When running a stock turbo with a batwheel (LLY) what vane position works the best when under wide open throttle runs.

0-5? 10-15? 20-30?

Now that i got these boost leaks figured out i wanna see how hard i can push this stock charger, and at what psi and vane position the truck runs the best.

I always ran 40 or a little less on my old LLY, above 3000rpm, but I think that was close to stock and ran fine, so I left it alone. Unfortunately, once I had it running decent, I didn't mess with it much, just the tow tune was tweaked occasionally. With your inj and pump, I'd open em up even further than that.

I've been running 15% never makes more than 32 on the street. I'm gonna close them up to 25% this weekend and see how she runs.

Didn't realize people stayed that close to stock on the vane table. Thanks for the info.

I happen to have 0-100psi friend I call izzy. Drive pressure is pretty much 1:2with 15%vane at 32 lbs of boost.

I'm sure there is a fine line somewhere that closing them down and raising boost will lose power from increased drive pressure. I would write two exact tunes but zero vane pos on one and put it up on a dyno

Yea that is an option, i'm just trying to get some input from tuners that know what works. So i can have a rough guess as to what will work the best and i can fine tune from there.

Mine was set at close to 30. Boost would peak at 36-37psi. Made some high egts though, and hate to think what drive pressures were like.
