Van thermostat housing

Who has a van thermostat housing installed and isn't running into issues with their hose hitting the A/C clutch.

If you can say yes, yours clears just fine then what hose did you use. I installed mine about 2 years ago and just tied the hose back a little towards the fan shroud but the zip tie keeps breaking. I want a hose that installs with no weird shit.

I have the gates hose for the van and it fits really well except that one spot is an issue.

Looking for suggestions from people who aren't having fitment issues.

Mine has it, Corbin installed it before I got it. It was zip tied and I cut it and never put the tie back on and I have a big a.c. delete pulley and dual fuelers with no issues. It sits right up against the shroud.

Hmmm....what about an upper radiator hose strap or hose-to-fan-shroud clamp from an older GM Abody (Cutlass, Skylark, Chevelle, etc)????

The autozone hose is cut long at both ends. Should give you clearance if you leave the thermostat side long and cut the rad size down. Or even cut your rad side down now that you have

I feel like I may have cut the housing side too far but left the rad side full length, it's too late to cut anymore I should have gone the other way

I'd say you definitely cut to much off, mine clears just fine.

I am using the gates 23141, which is the one for the van. i trimmed the ends, but I notched the fan shroud a but to allow the hose to be further way from the motor, not sure that helps, but i can grab a pic if you want

Just checked my truck, looks like a little got trimmed off of the radiator side. I have about 3/8 to half an inch between the hoses and the pulleys.

here's a few, its pretty tight in one area, but i notched the shroud to get a little more room. i did trim a little off each end, might have trimmed a little too much of the radiator end

Thanks for the pics, did you guys use a van hose or truck hose, my gates hose is a van hose, I got a van hose from vatozone and it's definitely not going to work, the show the same part # from 06-09

You guys should all be running a strap of some kind around the hose to the shroud. Just drill a hole in the shroud and use a GM pushpin fastener. Would look OEM.

James, the side of the hose that goes to the water neck curves to the right just enough I'd have to kink the hose pretty good even after trimming both ends. Is the orientation of the rad side different on a van than a truck? What years are available for a hose, wondering if a truck hose would be better...

Tom, I had that but the strap was smaller and the AC clutch would rub it in half I need what you posted it looks like it would be more durable but mostly I could fasten it back a little tighter without kinking the hose compared to the other one I had on there

I would put the strap in the area between the a/c clutch and the cp3 pulley.

I know they're not a vendor here but the guys at sdp are in the process of making hard pipes for the van thermostat housing. Scott didn't have them ready when I was down there but I will be ordering one when they are. Another option and cleans things up a bit.

I’m running the hsp billet t stat housing and their hard pipe. It fits amazing and the stat housing is a dam nice piece.

That's not my truck, I am still running a hose with my van t stat.
