I have the GM on car one for the duramax that comes in the engine service tool kit. I also used a KD one that has two arms and a t-handle on top.

I will say that it is definately a job with the heads still on. Doubt I will ever do another set that way.
My head gaskets are only 2000 miles old is it worth buying new ones to pull the heads.

You will need to pull the injectors so make sure you have an install kit. And a word to the wise get some rags or tape on block off every hole in the head and take a cloth sheet and attach it to the head and the innner fender and make a wall so that nothing can fall through. Those valve keepers are tiny and when they are oily they can get away from you easily. make sure they cant fall down into the oil pan or into the chassis cause they will be gone forever!!!!!!!!!! Get a good pencil sized magnet too.
