Always wanted to do an unboxing video. My granddaughter loves watching the.. However I'm not up to that level yet.. But here's a couple of slides of one I just received. .

Since I bricked 2 - V2 Autocal's within 10 minutes a couple weeks ago, would anyone like to places bets on how long a new V3 will last me. LOL

Almost forgot, comes with some warning labels on how not to fry it by accident. I didn't read em, but looked important....

Seriously, these do have a capacitor of some type onboard that needs to power down between cycles. So I'll give me a week to forget that.

Just plugged it into my neighbor's car to verify it actually does work correctly on a typical vehicle before I mess it up.

Actually pretty impressed, nice display, good information on all nodes, and extra memory for data logging. Definitely some nice update for customer ease of use experience.. Can't wait to check out the FlashScan.

Still not waterproof, so three weeks likely a decent bet in my world. lol

They are pretty cool. A buddy of mine was gifted one when they first came out so he could play with it.

Only thing that makes me nervous about the V3 was the streams were not supported at first. I know they have been trying to get away from them Which is why they don't offer them on the newer platforms. But I don't see how they can not be able to transfer them over. I have always supported EFI Even when they told me they were done and likely wouldnt go back and work on older platforms.

HPT On the other hand... I will not support!!! When a flash fails, they tell you too bad and make sure you have the latest update of software. which is usually daily. They can't tell you if a the Tune file is corrupt, Where it failed in the flash, Or even why it failed. But you can buy more licenses and try it again... They Don't refund credits even if they are at fault.

I would really like to learn more about how to discover the adress in the background. I ran into an issue on an LS1B operating system where it would hit a certain RPM and fall out of Power Enrichment. We swaped to a different version of the same operating system but a different Engine calibration and the issue went away.

I've been happy with, and appreciate the support commitment shown from all the EFIlive crew over the decade I've been a customer. Especially as I've learned to use the tools to a fuller extent doing crazy stand alone applications.

However as you start getting more into modifying things not listed in the pub release, ya find yourself doing a lot more writes to test your work. And for me, I'm bench testing on one, then loading two more. Looking back, a stream would probably work better for me. But I like the autocal for customer convenience. It leaves loaded exactly to fit end user experience.

As I was telling Lorenzo last week, one of the autocal I just crashed had 3 license and probably 50 pluse writes in the last month alone. All for just one project. Yes I used it, and in a couple months once delivered to customer, it might never be used again...

They have been good to me as well. Unlike HPT, there flash process has been stable and I have yet to have an issue that they didn't support me on. They even transferred a 2nd unit I picked up.

I understand they are a small company and I see how it can be hard to go backwards on stuff when your trying to do new stuff.
