So last night someone stole my v2 out of my truck. It has no licenses left on it so what I was wondering is will they have to use the serial number on it to buy new licenses? And if so Can the purchases be tracked through the serial number or could I just somehow block it from them being able to use it?

If you haven't registered your device on our site, or do not have a user account in our store (ie haven't purchased licenses), you will need to provide proof of purchase.

If you did register your device or have an account linked to your device (ie have purchased licenses) Send an email to sales at efilive dot com with your personal details and serial number to have the V2 marked as stolen.

Cheers
Cindy

Alright thank you Cindy . I just tried logging in with the only two emails I use and neither went through. Can you guys double check to make sure I didn't accidently register it to something else if I send you the serial number? I still have the little blue sheet with all the information. I could have sworn when I got it I registered it but maybe I didn't
I hadn't bought any licenses yet though

Perhaps you have - our website changed 3 months ago and while the back end data is preserved, the new system requires a new login.

Send the email off to sales, along with your name, city and approx date of purchase as well as your serial # and they can check for you.

If your device is not registered you'll need to provide proof of purchase.

Cheers
Cindy

ditto, definitely sounds like I need to register mine... never thought these would become a "Stollen" item.

So I just got called to ID suspects by the police and sure enough it was them. They had my v2 sitting in the back seat so we checked the serial number and it checked out. :happy2:

Hell at $900 these things could make your local thief some decent money.

You better believe I'm gonna follow through with it.

Here's the story, I thought it was pretty entertaining.
My dogs woke me up at about 4 am yesterday morning barking. Normally they bark once or twice if they see a deer but they just kept going so I figured I'd look out the windown. I saw a car parked to th left of my driveway. I figured the neighbors just had company but I better go check to make sure my truck is locked. So I go outside and open my door (apparently I didn't lock it) and my center console is open and my v2 is gone. I ran back inside grabbed my keys and took off. Told the wife it was stolen. So she called the cops right then. I took off up the street an drove by a car that looked similar and didn't think much of it till after I went by it so I turned back around and came back up the car and they were just getting ready to leave so I pulled up bumper to bumper with it and saw it was two young kids and I opened my door and told them to shut the f***ing car off and get the f*** out and they just lost all the color in their face. They put the car in reverse and tried to get down to a side road and go down it but I stayed bumper to bumper with them so then they reversed all the way down the street me staying right there with them (I hit them a couple times) then we get to the end of the road and they try to back into the road running perpendicular so they could take off but I blocked them. So they stopped there for a second so I stepped out figuring I had them, I was gonna go yank the driver out and beat the snot out of him but at that point they go ballsy and decided they would just drive over the yard and the sidewalk. I grabbed the door handle when they went by and of course it was locked. I ended up falling and getting a little road rash. Then last night at 0230 I just got called by the police to go to wal mart and ID a couple suspects and it turns out they were the guys that I saw last night. They had my v2 sitting in the back seat so we checked the serial number on it and it was mine. They were from somewhere in Illinois. Also their bumper was hanging off on one side and was all scratched to hell. lol

Very lucky!!! most of the time they never get caught or at least they don't get tied back to previous crimes.

I'm in the middle of that still. I had my toy hauler and RZR 900 stolen a while back. Long story short, I recovered both and ID'd the guy with a convenience store camera that was across the street from storage where he pulled in and walked inside on the phone. I filed the video clips from both storage and the gas station, wrote a detailed report and still have yet to get the detective to do anything. Very frustrating.

On another note, if your V2 is registered and then stolen are you able to get back any of the licenses? I have the duramax and cummins unlock along with multiple licenses on my v2, it would be very costly to replace and I know these things can happen at any time.

I'm waiting to talk to the detective so they get that in there also. I want these ****ers prosecuted to the fullest extent. It's bullshit how people think because someone else works hard that they should just get it.

Congratulations on getting it back. You will need to contact sales again to have the purchasing restriction removed from your device.

Customers need to have adequate insurance to cover these events. Efilive is not in a position to offer discounts or free replacements due to theft or other incidents. Efilive will assist customers in providing copy invoices and/or summaries of replacement costs given licenses can be purchased over an extended period of time for the customer to submit to their insurance company.

Congrats on the recovery! Sorry you had to go through this. Shame we all have to be reminded that we are all surrounded by people without a conscience or morality. Lesson be learned for those who leave valuables in the car.

On a side note. My pickup was broken into @ Texas Roadhouse a while back. Despite these criminals being on camera at my own bank trying to cash checks from my wife's checkbook and at WalMart as well writing our checks.... Cops did nothing. No incentive to go after/prosecute "petty thieves". Isn't that what our tax dollars pay for?
