My issue isn't even tq on the cheap clamp. Its the fact that it strips out using a screwdriver hand tight because they aren't meant to hold positive pressure. I've tried using some vaseline on the o ring too to see if that would help seal it. There just isn't enough clamping force.

Any heavy truck parts shop should be able to help you out. If you measure and look up the corresponding part number, I can't imagine it being much more than $15-25

I doubt Danville makes their own clamps, probably sourced from another application and marked up and sold for the Dmax. If you do the leg work and figure out a part number or original application you could potential save money.

I agree, $65 is not a big deal to me at this point in my life, but when I was still in school I had more time than money and saving $20-30 on a clamp would've been worth it to me

Its principal. That is a $20 part. And they are damn near charging that for shipping. BS. I'll call around local and see. Hell. I can just bring one in with me. Was hoping someone knew of one I could order though. Just easier since I'm out of town all week.

I doubt the clamp your looking at on there site is a vband. It's prolly a vibrant, there attempt at a cheap substitute for a wiggins. If that's what it is, 65 bucks is cheap comparatively

V- band clamps can be fairly expensive, especially custom ones, which this one is... It's also not common which is why they are more money. Its a diesel nothings friggin cheap;)

I ordered and installed the Danville clamp on my truck. It holds every bit of the 35psi from my 483 going into my Danville 72va. I am glad Danville took the time to research a problem and come up with a great solution. Worth every cent.

If I don't find one in the next couple days I'll just bite the bullet. But I still think it is overpriced. But so was every other part we put on our trucks.

You must have a beast then. Mine can't even get hand tight. It sucks. I can hear it at less than 5lbs while testing it for boost leaks. It will almost bleed every lb off.

Joe. Pm me a price if you would. 79121.

I'm really curious how much I'm really losing with this leak since I have a Turbo pulling from there too. I did scare the shit out of myself by not tightening my test port enough on the 5". Got to about 15 and that sucker popped out. I peed a little bit. Took me a sec to figure out what had happened. Was freaking loud.

I've heard them pop out at 20psi, and its not something I want to experience again. A friend used the tester I made with PVC, epoxy, and a Schrader valve up to 80psi :shock

Damn. I hid after it popped off at 15. That is a brave dude. Lol. I got my test plug from someone on here. 20 was enough for me to find my big leak. Couldn't hear anything over the mouthpiece leaking. I'll test again after I get a new clamp.

Ya, I wouldn't ever do it myself. Apparently he was convinced his intercooler was leaking around 75psi and wanted to test for it. He said it was pretty unnerving watching the boots expand and grow in length lol

Not to shabby for a tester I have maybe $12 into lol

Just 20 lbs of boost freaked me out watching the boots swell. Amazing what happens under the hood that we don't see.
