Used truck already efi-live tuned.

I bought an 04 lb7 ccsb about a month ago. I've been doing my research and have determined that since it has a dsp5 it must already be running an efi live tune. There wasn't an autocal/tuner with the truck either.
My question is, is there a simple way to tell what/who's tune it's got? I want to try one of the "good" tuners on here but would kick myself if I buy a tune that it was already programed with haha.
Thanks!

Yeah it runs pretty good. #5 is too much for the stock tranny from 4-5/5-4 though ha

Thanks for the exceptionally quick response too!

I had the same issue when I bought mine, ran great but I just did 60% over injectors so I went with a new tuner. Normally the tuners have the tune files locked so you see them. If you like the tuning then run it. If not you have the option to buy efi from a tuner of choice or send your ecm to a tuner of choice.

Try and get in touch with the previous owner whether you bought the truck from him or thru a dealership they should have all the info to get you in contact with them so you can ask!

Thanks for the responses. I'm probably just gonna run these until I get a built trans and then look into a new tune at that point. I'll try contacting the dealership too (maybe even the one the original owner used for service) and see if I can't get some info that way.

Is the engine/transmission tune done at the same time with efilive? Meaning most tunes have an engine and transmission tune paired for each setting on the dsp5? I know that might be a pretty basic question but just want to make sure I'm comprehending all the info I've been reading lately!

Well, they could have tuned the transmission, BUT it is flashed separately from the ECM. So it does not change transmission parameters with each tune.

As said above most tuners on 01-10 efi tuned vehicles don't really mess with trans tuning and nor do the customers purchasing the tuning. Only the new 11+ trucks benefit a lot from trans tuning.

Alright, thanks guys. Maybe that's where I was getting confused. I think I did read that in an lml thread (come to think of it).

EFILIVE flashes the ECM and TCM seperately, HPTUNERS was the one that flashed them both at the same time. A stock trans truck can benefit some from a trans tune change i nthat you can raise the shift points up some at WOT to get teh engine out of it's torque band which allows you to push more power before slipping/limping your trans. It is a bandaid at best as there is no alternative for a built trans, but several have in the past done it to get em by until they could build there trans.
