Ended up trading in my 15 GMC with the 6.0 in for this 06. My buddy that works at a dealer gave me a heads up about it a couple months ago. The guy finally traded it in Sat. I was there a hour later. Didn't even get detailed. It has 34500 miles. Thing is damn near perfect. Old man truck that has been garaged its whole life. Still smells new inside. Got sick of the mileage, power and height of the 15.

OMG it is an lbz.

:yup:

The 06 'LLY' is a LLY in name only. The hardware is all LBZ that is slightly detuned. The LLY branding is for the 'EPA'. There is a GM update for the 06 'LLY' that 'merges' the tuning and makes the 06 'LLY' run the same calibration as the LBZ.

Excellent trade! I work at a small Chevy dealer and had the same type of opportunity, my Lbz was in the system for a couple of hours :thumb:

Nothing wrong with an LBZ that's masquerading as a LLY.... or is it the other way around? Curious, any idea what the PO traded it in on? So far, I'm glad I have a truck with a CP3 pump and no DPF or DEF.......

That's what mine is. Late 05 build so it's LLY vin and LLY amount of power and torque rating but the entire truck is lbz. Just wish it had the lly pistons...it'd make me feel better
