Upgrade converter when pulling trans?

I cracked my rear adapter housing so I will be getting the transmission pulled to fix it. My question is do you all think it would be worthwhile to upgrade the torque converter when the transmission is out or should I just wait until I get it built? I was planning on getting it built a little over a year from now :bananallama:. I would most likely be going with a Goerend X or G or a ML if I replaced it. I also haven't limped it yet.

Unless you are pulling it, you are just paying someone twice for the same job. So build it. Some guys can do it in a few hours alone. Not this guy.:thumb: But i can do it alone.

Is the shop doing the fix built Allison's before? If not I would maybe hold out on getting it built by them. Now if your conifident in their work then just get it built now while it's out. That's if you have the coin to do it now.

Change your u joints while it's out. I wouldn't do the converter till it's built.
