Update on Diesel Buggy!

Here are a few up-dated pictures. Almost everything works like it should. Still a few bugs to clear from the DTC's which should take care of the idiot lights on the factory GM instrument panel. It is big and heavy. It weighed in at 8450 pounds. Since it will be used for Search & Rescue then weight helps in being a good anchor for the other guy. With EFILive on the LBZ, power to move it is not an issue! Time to play before I take it all apart for painting...

Looks good.

Will you be running bead locks? That rig looks like it could hang on the trails but airing those bad boys down will be needed.

The tires have a PVC insert that goes inside the tire before the two piece rim is bolted togerther which is known as a double bead lock. The tire can not come off the rim since it is clamped from the inside out... I have 20 PSI in them.

Looks pretty sweet. Are those cutting brake levers I see in the first pic? What transfer case are you running? How about the axles? Look like Rocks to me.

Yes, they are cutting brakes. It uses a typical Wilwood brake/clutch pedal assembly with three masters. The normal brake operates the typical two masters with a balance bar for the four corner wheel brakes in the front and rear. The clutch pedal position master in this case is also a brake pedal which operates the front and rear pinion brakes. The cutting brake assembly is in line to allow me to lock the front or the rear axles indepedently with the help of the Atlas four speed transfercase. Atlas lets you engage or dis-engage the front and rear axles seperately for those that did not know. I can lock the rear, engage the front and through dust with rear staying in almost the same place. Hold the front axle locked makes an easy burnout as well...;););)

I figured you weren't running a stock case when I saw the cutting brakes. Do you have any concerns about the Atlas holding up to the weight and power you have in the buggy? I didn't think about the rear steer giving you the ability to do rear digs. I do know front digs are pretty handy in tight spots.

Very cool buggy.

This Atlas is a heavy duty version of what they normally sell. It has a heavy duty output kit that they do special for some military rigs. It may soon be available. I think it will be called the M300 option but only for the 2sp. It can handle anything a Duramax can through at it.

Yes, it is the first four/five seat Sniper ever built. We kicked the dimensions out in every dirrection to make room for the LBZ and the Allison. Those guys are first class!

Awsome Man! Big grin in effect!:D Avalanche Frame, cool They do awsome work! That looks absolutly destructive (in a Good way!) Are you going to shield the coolant plumbing on the outside of it? Would be my only worry, crushing it. That rig is so inconcevebly cool I had to pinch myself:rofl:
