Hello Greg, If you "REALLY" do want to start your own business then you need to. Its hard, Its very scary! When you have a wife a kids it takes BALL"S. I mean biggins. I started my own shop 5 1/2 years ago. It sucks at times but its up to you and you only to make of it what you want. I was in the same place you are now. I worked at Jegs for 11 years. I started in the shop, then they shut it down because we made to much for what we made them. So then I worked in retail, they have 3 stores local. I was always in the top 3 in sales. I worked there for 3 or 4 years and got tired of the shit hours. So then I went to mail order. I was 2nd in sales the first year of which I only had 11 months. Next 4 years I was there TOP salesperson. Then they got some new HR people. They started to play with your hours, told you when you could take vacation and back to shit hours. One day I had a meeting with my boss and had words. I told him I could have a job the next day! I didn't need them. He said if you think your so good why don't you just leave. I did and haven't looked back since. It was very scary for a while, but if you believe in yourself, I for one KNOW you can do it. Sorry for the rant but it just hits home with me. Companies use you and could care less about you. Thanks Jeff

I don't think i have the juevos to open a full shop. I would like to get more training and more experience especially with this new 4.5 coming out.

I have 1 major dealer in mind right now and i'm having trouble getting some answers. I'm considering 2 other "possibilities" right now that will take me away from the duramax. Basicly i want a good solid company to work for .... My side business can be put off if absolutly necessary. I have some great people that are "on hold" right now for some work and i feel like each day i am not at a dealership i am further holding them up, but if i go to a job other then a dealer i have already found a place for you to go without any issues. I'm gonna have something lined up soon. I'm already tired of being home. It's enjoyable with the wife and kid but i miss my toolbox :D .

I don't wanna bring up what all i have done or where i have gone just because i don't want any interferance with those dealers. We'll just say not having a job seems like more work then having one  .

GOT IT !!!!

I will release the shop name later though....

I got lucky and had 2 places to choose from !!!!!

So, i wanted to thank everyone for their input and comments. I think this all helped me to maintain a somewhat cool head about the situation. I am still not happy about what all went down but i honeslty feel i am now with a better and more stable company !!!! I can see growth in my knowledge and experience. I will have the opportunity to learn new things as well as work on the same trucks as before.

Super Stoked !!!! Much better feeling now !

I have a drug test tomorrow and some paperwork... then next week i get to move my toolbox.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

cool, good luck with the move, both of them, and the baby. it is hard to maintain your composure when that kinda stuff goes down so much props for that. having a clear head makes focusing on the future much easier.

Congrats Greg! You'll do well there I am sure

thx, i hope so.

Looks like they are there for the long haul.

The quality of the people at this shop are well above the previous. My first day people came up and introduced themselves, shook my hand and offered any help i needed. Within an hour of me being there the OWNER walked up and shook my hand, talked to me for a few minutes and i really felt they have high hopes/ expectations of me within the diesel area. I don't remember Mr. Simpson at the other shop come and introduce himself. It's a good feeling when you see the owner walk the shop and talk with the guys because he's one of them...

Definatly a well established dealership. Most of the guys that work there have been there over 20 years.
