Ugh, I hate Mazak!

CNC milling machine. Mazaks use a different programming language than most(yes I know they can still read G-code, but I am prevented from that on this machine). I hate them.

Spindles are expensive, you can knock the B axis out of rotation, and slip the Z.

You'd be suprised, it really doesn't.

I've seen a 3 lb. block of aluminum come out of a fixture on a Mori horizontal cutting with a 3/4" endmill at 14,000 rpm 350ipm 1/2" deep.

Hung on the tool just long enough to say bye bye Mr. $18,000 spindle. Didn't seem like that big of a deal until the operator started the spindle again. Bearings were not happy.

I've seen (and by seen I mean coming right for my face) a checker sized piece of aluminum shatter Mr. $1100 safety window. Good thing that window was there.

Humm I have seen some bad crashes with no damage to the spindle. It runs, and good I might add. Already made a few parts its time to hand the keys over to the "operator". Oh yeh one of the windows on this mill is busted guess someone has already slung something out. Mazak is shit anyways, hell they would pay me to knock it out I bet!:joker:

I hope my next job is on a mori or a makino something to look forward to.
