At what point did it throw the rod out. Like how far into the pass?

The 2 1/4 mile passes I saw he had some boost building issues I think

Right passed the 1/8 the rods exited the block. He left flat just to run the truck through gears with new motor and turbos and give it once over before we turned it up.

The converter wasn’t happy and eventually failed later in the day. Tony did a beautiful job on that truck especially given the timeline he did it in. Very impressive what he did.

Both Dmitri and Kelsey from Canada had hard times too, believe she lost the engine on the sled pull. Don't think Dmitri made it past the Dyno.

From what I heard he was having problem Friday so he didn't know if he was going to make it on to the dyno sat. So he didn't pull a number out of the hat. He got the truck fixed and running before the dynos were done and everyone was ok with him to run except a couple people and they let him run. Then pulled some good numbers and the industrial crew cried about and had him dq'd because he did draw his number out of the hat. Like him or not sounds shady. All competitor's voted to let him run on dyno then didn't like his numbers so threw a fit.

Then he should've pulled a number. Better to miss his turn and beg for time later on as a redo than to not have a spot at all to start with.

This is why I dislike diesel motorsports anymore. A few people with their own agenda "run" the show, to the detriment of the sport as a whole.

I sponsor Huskers Trucks, Justin Hyatt ran IIRC 9.2 in the 1/4 mile and dyno'd a decent number, I don't know the exact number but it was around 1800/2500, that may not be exactly correct.

I was unable to attend the event, but I did get frequent calls and updates and the UCC feed was horrible, lots of ads and the latency was not good even with a super fast business connection, it still lagged horribly.

Levon is definitely well prepared, that is why IMHO he dominated 3 years in a row, and he has a hell of a set-up.

Its a 3 event competition, guys that get aggressive, or have not tested the set-up destroy motors usually, I would guess Levon and others who have competed before have a solid game plan and executed it, I know Justin's truck has been improving the past few seasons, its gone faster and faster, and remains in one piece for the most part.

It sucks, because its a lot of $$$$$$$$$, A LOT, to spend on a single event, when a motor splits a block and or throws rods its just like you threw away $35k-$50k.......:(:(:(

Congrats to all the competitors, some of the UCC qualifiers did pretty good as well.

Its definitely getting to be a huge event, IMHO its way bigger than the Diesel Power Challenge now.

Maybe a quick dyno blip but trying to make full power passes at the track isn’t happening for long. Fully filled blocks and solid heads ruin the trucks and still fail and if you stay wet block it’s not going to last at the power level need. Even the most die hard guys making power are coming to that realization. No matter what anyone says when you’re behind the scenes EVERYONES truck is pushing heads cracking blocks or spitting rods or having some type of failure at HP levels that we shouldn’t be. Until we progress more we cant compete with the top tier cummins crowd.

Does anyone know what the big cummins guys are running for engine set up's these days? Deckplated and sleeved 6.7 down to 5.9, billet blocks, billet cranks, aftermarket heads? I am just curious to compare how the different groups have been approaching this issue of 2000+ HP vs engine life. Considering most gas engine that make this kind of power have few to no OE components in the then or if they do they are heavy modified.

DPC has turned into KJ's agenda where he chooses some shit trucks to get into the voting. It has become, in my mind, kind of a joke lately.

I am by no means discrediting the competitors in that event, more so the organizers as I know what goes into a build being involved in my own at this time.

There are no factory Cummins parts. Billet blocks and billet heads.
