in the buckeye state
47 would be more DD setup
55 would be more race

mika is running a 4088/4718 setup.. from talking to him you could run a gt55 as a DD setup

quaoting said person.. a/r is 95 on the 4088 and 1.08 on the 4718 both waste gate with 50mm vlvs
I dont remember a/r´s now, they are in my thread in DP.
I had big problems to get turbos making any boost in line. When it begins to make boost, it will raise very fast to 80-90 psi, so big charger wakes up nice and fast. I dont know what cause problems, maybe extreme cam and 1058 converter are not good combination. Electric problems also, and they may have some affect to that.
But there are more to come when all problems are solved.

i did some research when i considered building twins for my truck.

The GT-55 is a VERY expensive charger and can take 6 weeks, it's not an "off the shelf" item. I remember being quoted $5000 for both sides. IIRC the exhaust side is inconel as well. Not much of a size difference at that level, but i must say the 55 is a monster. If a guy wanted to use that charger he's gonna need to be a fabmaster/planner, IMO.

If i had to do it again, i would still spin the small charger but add the compound charger. Spinning the small charger takes all the brain damage piping out of the equation.

Hope this helps you out in some way.

Later.

Garrett is not the only big turbo brand out there:). Don't count out the Airwerks S91 for $1999. It has a 91mm inducer and is rated for 1575 crank HP.

Heck of a lot smaller (easier to plumb) than a GT55.

single.

IMO its to big for a top charger in a twin and too small for a bottom. Works very good by itself though
