I think your taking it out of context. Jake wasnt trying to promote Underground Diesel. Jason Wherli built the kit not Underground. He was just excited about them using the pic of his kit on their site. Probably the reason Kat hasnt removed it, she is smart enough to see that it was not an attempt to promote or advertise for a non supporting vendor.

If the rules were that strict, then no one would be able to post any pics of things they built or had built or parts bought from anywhere but a supporting vendor. I love this forum and I plan on becoming a vendor one of these days. When that happens I would not be affended by a thread like this.

Now if someone were saying they got a sweet turbo from peterpanturbos.com, they are really cheap and everyone should check them out and go buy one, then yea I could understand peoples concerns.

Nobody said the kit didnt look good or that whoever built his kit does sub par work, and jealousy has nothing to do with any of my comments. Our supporting vendors make this site possible and if someone wants to buy a compound kit somewhere else thats their own pererogative, but its kind of a slap in the face to the vendors who go out of their way to give everybody good advice and tech tips just for them to go and buy a kit somewhere else then post a thread about it. Not saying i wouldnt be proud of the kit too, but i probably wouldnt have put a link to a non supporting vendors site.....try that on DP and i will bet your thread gets deleted as soon as a mod sees it, at least all the mods here are mature enough to leave peoples threads alone but we should return the favor by supporting the people who support the site. Just my $0.02

The point i was trying to make is that we have an extremely tolerant forum and we should all try to support those that support our forum so that it stays that way, dp and df started out the same way from what i hear but things got out of control with non supporting vendors so now they are what they are. I just dont want to see ours end up the same way.

so trying to make sure our supporting vendors, that you even said make great products, get all the business possible is childish? If so then call me a child because i am also a small business owner and i would be pissed if for instance i had a billboard that i had payed for to advertise my business and someone else posted their advertisements right beside mine on my billboard. This isnt much different and while im not upset at the OP at all because its very clear that he had no ill intent, i just wish everyone would be a little more mindful of who makes dd.com possible.

I'm trowing in the towel I want this thread that I started in piss poor taste on my part REMOVED. Feelings may be hurt by it and it's just pissing people off.

This honestly was not my intent at all. Ben stated it very well for me. I was on my out the door to work this morning when I made my previous post otherwise I would have elaborated more but he covered it pretty good. I was excited about the pic and it thought I would share end of story.

There is absolutely no reason to remove this thread IMO. Its nothing but a small difference in opinion and im entitled to my own just as everybody else is. Admittidly I take things like this a little more serious than i probably should, but i deal with competition in business everyday and i always have to watch out for the "other guy" and i dont appreciate when other businesses benefit from my efforts, as im sure no other business owner does. Now that im off my soap box, on a more positive note you kit does look to be beautifully built and the color matching of the valve covers and piping is a nice touch. I apoligize if it seemed like i was trying to take away anything from your kit, as that was not my intention at all.

The OP posted something really cool about HIS TURBO KIT, you take off with it and make him feel like a POS for his efforts... Next time he might not post up because of this. We have MODs to police us and if they don't like something they take care of it.
