Man, I never realized what a pain it is to get that down pipe off! The LLY and LMM spoiled me. If you are weak, you better find a buddy who is strong, cause you have to go in from the top on at least two of the five bolts. You can only get about a 6-8 inch drive in there as well so it going take some power to break the bolts loose. Oh yeah dont be shy, your hands are going to take a beating:rofl:

Glad this project is over

I must've gotten lucky for once. Mine went pretty easy, with the exception of the one downpipe nut on the passenger side. The hardest part was making the new pedestal line up.

Box end wrench piece of 2x4 and long bar works wonders. I had to ream my pedestal bolts out too.

The busted knuckles was probably the worst part about it, have had it out three times in the last month and a half and the first time was by far the hardest. The bottom bolt on the downpipe didn't want to break loose, took several tries before I went to town on it and ended up with a swollen hand.

Easiest way for me to do it was through the top for almost everything, turned the T-bolt clamps around so the bolts weren't ripping me apart while I was laying across the top, having the hood in the service position helps too, found that out the second time around.

I bent a couple of s-k wrenches. the down pipe was the hardest! The up-pipes were easy cause you can actually get a breaker bar on all of them.

What's up with the pedistal's not fitting correctly? Mine didn't either.

Still have not had time to do mine yet. I got one last set of injectors going in before I put the 4088 on. so it was you that reamed those out. I guess it will make it easier.

Well, I had to take it off again today! Dang oil return line was leaking. I hope it is fixed now. BTW had it off, new gaskets installed and back on in less the two hours this time.

Yeah F@#K GM for bolting the down pipe on lb7's. I think i broke a finger and had blood running off both hands on that one. 4088 went on in a day considering all the pedistal mods that were a complete pain in the ass. The s400 went on in like 3 hours including all the same (and then some) pedistal mods. It definately gets easier with time

Yeah. It was so far off. The spacing was completely wrong. Whoever was in charge of drilling it may have drank their breakfast
