I am thinking about running twins on my truck. Right now I am using an Aurora 2000 and I was wondering what would be a good turbo to use for twins.

it would pending a few things is some ones kit going to fit it ? and i would say it should be wastgated ? and what are your goals with the truck ? for a racing aplication it would be a bit small unless it had a decent size wastgate . for a towing or street truck it would do fine its not much biger than a stock turbo . call nathan at mpi he will know if he has a set that would work with your a2k , if your building yourself than it would be the same as any other turbo just get the apripriate size pipes flanges ect .

edit to answer you original question a s475 would be a good mate for your a2k .

is the a2k wastegated ? and othergirl just posted a s475 for sale that would be a good mate for your turbo . i think it was only 550 shipped ? polished cover and everthing :) as far as being to big you can build waste gates into the system for both chargers to regulate how hard the chargers are pushed for boost .

i don't know if the aurora is wastegated the most i have ever pushed out of it was 30psi

you will have to find out it will have to be gated some how to work well ? i have heard there are pedistall spacers that are gated might be a option i have never looked into external gates for the small turbo , i know there is a gated t4 pedistall that just came out but it might be cheaper to sell your turbo and get a different model ?

would both turbos need a gate?

not nec on the big one depending on the total boost if total boost was too high gating the big one can lower it , but i would for shure make shure the little is gated if not drive pressure tends to be a issue and you run the risk of overspeeding it . if the total boost on a twin setup is around 45 psi you would want the little one suplying aroung 20-22 , and the big one to be aroung the same if anything you want to make shure the big one is suplying more boost tyhan the little one , wastgates are the only way to control this unless the chargers are matched perfectly .

The Aurora 2000 compressor is actually smaller than the stock VVT (58mm vs. 63mm). Without a wastegate the turbine side wont flow any better either.
