I was at Jesse Bubb's (Wait4Me Performance) Saturday and he was working on a 09 CTS-V that was at 750hp with the mods. Pretty wild. He does some awesome gas tuning.

You may wanna check with Diesel Addiction I have heard he does gassers.

I have written very mild performance/economy tunes for the gassers, mostly 1/2 ton trucks but a few others as well. I don't advertise it as adding significant power but it will give better mileage, throttle response, and correct the shift points to keep you in your power band.

you cant just "jump into" gas tuning and "throw something together" like everyone does when they buy efilive for their duramax. Its pretty rare to get any worthwhile gains with a off-the-shelf tune. Best bet is to contact a custom tuner who is actually known for doing GAS tuning stuff.

Before you change anything, get a GOOD quality wideband o2 sensor.

Ben

I completely agree for performance gas tuning. IMO to properly dial in a performance tune you need to have the car on a dyno and monitoring A/F. When people call wanting power I refer them to the local guys that specialize in whatever it is they have. If a guys wants a basic tune for better mileage, throttle response, and correct the shift points as an alternative to buying a boxed tuner (which like you said are mostly junk) then I tune it.

X3 ^^

Minimum needed is a wideband, dyno, and lots of good experience.

LE is also very good with GM's and the vipers. But they are on this side of the country.

I call BS on anyone that says they can tune it it off of a dyno and says you dont really need a wideband.

Dont forget the premium fuel lol.

I remember watching Battle of Super Cars on Speed channel and they had a FastLane tuned camaro, so I guess you could check into that, but I am just going off what I saw...

Agreed, especially on the wideband.

I have a piece of road dyno software for Subarus that has proved to actually be very close to a mustang dyno. My trap speeds and weight verified this. It was a helpful tool for WOT tuning but of course doesn't replace a real dyno.... just more affordable :thumb:
