I'm a new Duramax owner, first diesel ever. I have a 2011 Denali LML, new exhaust up to the down pipe(DPF delete obviously. EGR delete, and I believe this exact tuner.

Forgive my ignorance. So is this an EFI live? It has the 5 pre programmed tunes. If it is EFI live and the truck needed changed after the deletes, is there a chance he did this custom? Idk how this works and how they need to be correctly used. What if I were to use one of the tunes on there and set it for fuel economy?

I currently do not have any gauges. I see a lot of people recommend the EDGE insight CTS? What's the difference between the CTS2 and other edge products

I recently had to cut the riser off the up pipe do to it cracking and I have boost but I feel as if the turbo sounds a bit different than it did before. Definitely opens up when hitting on the throttle but not as loud on slow acceleration.

In the later future I'd like to get new down pipe, inter cooler pipes, possibly a cold air intake and get rid of the resonator and grid heater. I live in ohio so it gets kinda cold in the winter.

I've been researching like crazy to avoid having to make threads. Thanks in advance.

Yes that is EFI live from motor ops.. When did you get the autocal? Before or after you changed the exhaust? You need to tell them you want delete tuning now if you don't have that..

And yes one of them tunes they say is more for fuel economy, you should have instructions or something that came with it telling you what all 5 tunes are..

And the edge insight cts2 is just the new updated version of the cts.. It's basically just used for gauges and some code reading..

Previous owner did this the deletes and tuner. I didn't know if he just used one of the pre programmed tunes or not or actually had a computer and did all that jazz. I have no idea how to do that. I'm gonna look into getting my truck in order I don't want to run into problems.

Well if it's running good with no codes then I'm sure it's all good..

I'm not sure how motor ops does but if you hook up the autocal and go to the tuning tool and scroll through there you should be able to see the five tunes..

Try upgrading your intake as well I recommend AFE intake or brute for that louder smoother turbo sound.
As far as tuner goes that question was pretty much answered but I will say this make sure you know exactly what the tunes are you are running and what your settings on each are or you could potentially limp your trans. CTS is a good gauge.

Umm, the edge insight cts that people recommend on this forum are NOT tuners.. They are strictly used for gauges..

Yes thats EFI live but I dont recommend it. Will not that tuner anyways. Id get EFI from one of the vendors here. I personally recommend moonshine! Get the tunes you want for the mods you have. And get the cts you can change tunes and monitor engine vitals.

Not necessary at this point just enjoy you Truck and educate yourself on the other tuning options.... then maybe upgrade

This. Nothing wrong with MotorOps tuning either if he wants to stay with that and his truck runs fine for him. Why recommend something he doesnt need?

There isn't a damn thing wrong with Motor Ops tuning.. I've had tunes from 3 of the big boy tuners. Motor Ops, Moonshine and PPEI. They ALL have there goods and bads. Also different trucks react differently to the same tune.
I have 2 LML's. Exactly same brand delete kits, exhaust.. etc.. one truck ran like shit with PPEI the other like a dream... Same tune.

You NEED to re-weld the riser...

Motor Ops make smooth well refined tunes, I wouldn't worry about switching tuners at the moment if you like the way it drives. For gauges I would at least get an EGT gauge, I prefer Autometer gauges but there are plenty of other brands out there that will get the job done. I cant stand gauge pillars and especially screens suction cupped to the windshield. The overhead console holds 2 gauges nicely on the older body Duramax trucks. I'm not sure where you can tuck them in in a Denali though.
