Looking at doing a turbo direct pipe. Looking at Diamond Eye, MBRP, anyone else make one I should look at? Thought I read Rick Lance makes one?? I'm wondering if anyone has had fitment issues with any of them or any pros cons.

I have the All Season downpipe. It's all stainless steel and fit awesome. I was really happy with quality when I opened the box up.

I have a Profab pipe, no complaints. I bought it before Tony @ Allseason came out with his, I like SS so if I bought another thats what it would be.

Well at this point I am between the allseason and profab. I think the profab is nice because it comes wrapped for a good price but stainless is nice too. Hmmmm

I have installed both the Profab and the MBRP. Fitment issue with the MBRP is coating is too thick on the turbo flange and needs to be sanded before you fish the thing up into position and fight it for 20 minutes to get it back out. Profab fit like it grew there (filed and sanded coating at turbo connector) first try. MBRP does not come wrapped, Profab did. Turbo clamp seemed to fit a better on the Profab.

On a side note, you can install both without removing the turbo cover from the truck. Just take the bolts out, and lift it up to access the clamp on the turbo. NOTE GM INSTALLS THE CLAMP WITH THE NUT ON DRIVER SIDE AT THE BOTTOM.... Deep socket and 1/4" drive ratchet to remove the clamp. I did have to bend the cover slightly for easier access. The factory down pipe is a pain to remove, but it will fall out eventually.

Another vote for Allseasons SS DP here.

Just another top notch part from ASD as always.

If your really worried about it being wrapped than just wrap it yourself. Heat wrap is very cheap when your buying such a small quantity.

I have the one from dts, all I can say is that it fit nicely and the tig welds were nice and even ..... Unlike mbrp crap!

Dts, allseason, profab.... You can't go wrong with any of them

I stopped driving it in the winter because it started rusting. Last year I drove a beater. I hate salt on my truck! I oil it annually now in the rockers and fenders.

Duramax downpipe replacement

I just replaced the OEM downpipe with a MBRP 3" downpipe. I love the MBRP. It fit nicely and helps with reducing the EGT's. However removing the OEM pipe was a SOB. 8 hours of working on it was needed to break the 4 bolts and 2 nuts loose at the top of the downpipe and install the MBRP downpipe. I needed several tools that I didn't have. I borrowed a 12mm 12 pt swivel extension impact socket from my mechanic. That helped. Soaked them overnight with penetrating oil. Heated them and then adapted up to a 3/4" impact with 3' of extensions to get two of them from the bottom. Removal of the tranny dipstick is a must. Once the OEM was free it was not coming out through the top or the wheel well like the directions said. I got out the trusty plasma cutter and cut off the bottom 5" of the OEM pipe. I then slid the MBRP in from the top. Hope this may help someone out.

You have an LLY so you just have a band clamp to remove off the back of the turbo. Shouldnt take more then an hour or 2 to change. I take the trans dipstick loose, take the heat sheild off, remove both band clamps and take it out the fender well.
