Again I'm assuming and could be wrong but Brian is or was working for Cat and I believe that's how he got his filters for 7 bucks. Lucky him. Although 15-20 bucks at the local Cat dealer isn't going to break the bank and is still waaaaay cheaper than the stock fuel filter replacement. I imagine if you bought a box of them they might even give you a better deal. Volume buying is always great for makin a good deal:thumb:

I'm going to be doing a lift pump soon, is it worth it to still do the change on the factory filter? I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to have 3 filters but just looking for input.

I do appericate all of the fast replays right after I posted this thread! :thumb:
This is my favorite diesel site! :woott:

Is it worth it? I think so. And a lot of others have done it including myself after reading that Air Dog filters aren't that efficient at two microns. The Cat filter has a much higher efficency rating @ 2 microns. Another option (with slight modification) that some on this site have done is to mount the Cat filter right onto the Airdog lift pump thus eliminating the stock fuel filter head, need for the adapter, and one less expensive Airdog overpriced filter to change. The procedure lists better fuel pressure as a benefit I recall.
