Just bought this truck and it came with EFI Live. I got the PC to ALDL cable and a CD. When I installed what was on the CD it asked for registration numbers and i didnt have any. I would like to know what my options are and I will most definatly need guidence when i go to use it. The truck currently has a EFI Live tune on it, so say the previouse owner but I would like to see what else is available. This thing hauls ass but it is slightly difficult to drive gently because its a manual and the throttle is rather touchy. It also dosent make hardly any power till about 2000rpm and then it takes off like a bat out of hell. Anyways, any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

It sounds like you did not get all the stuff for EFILive. In addition to the ODBII to Flashscan cable you should have gotten the Flashscan, a usb cable to go from the Flashscan to a laptop, and a blue card. The blue card has the registration numbers for the cable. Cables are registered to a specific VIN number w/EFI.

Is it possible to talk to the seller again and ask him if you can get the rest of the parts? Another thing you will want a copy of your current tune and the stock tune, electronically (if a dealer does an ECM update with a TECH II, you will lose your tuning and go back to stock). In addition, if you can talk to the seller, ask him who did the tuning...this is not absolutely necessary, but it may be good for you to know later if you change components on the truck.

If you cannot get the rest of the stuff from the seller, then you will need to either find someone with a Flashscan (assuming the cable you have is the one that is registered to your VIN) or buy the EFILIve hardware from a vendor here or elsewhere.

I am not sure how the licensing issues go with your situation, you need to talk to EFI directly on that.

All i got was a little box that says flash scan on it, a cd and 2 cables. one cable that goes from the ALDL to the flash scan box and one cable that gose from the flash scan box to the computers USB port. I couldnt figure out how to post a picture so i changed my avitar to a pic of the flash scan box that i got with the truck. I hope i got all the stuff to make this work because i cant seem to get a hold oh the previous owner.

Be careful with that you can make some real bad headaches for your self if you get in there and start changing things.Try to contact the seller back and tell him you are missing some parts. See what he says.

I havnt even hooked it to the truck yet. Deffinately wanted to find out as much as i could about it before i start messing with is. I would really like to start tinkering though. The current tune on the truck is mildly difficult to drive because the throttle is so damn touchy. Thats not the best thing in the world with a manual trans. lol
I tried to get ahold of the previouse owner but its not working out. Kinda odd, like he just dropped off the face of the earth or something. or he sold me a lemon and dosent wont to deal with me. No issues so far though, except for wanting to modify the tune and not being able to.
