Thanks. I was worried about that spacer that has to line up with the hole in the shafts but I didn't turn the input drum when I removed it so hopefully no issues
Even if it turned, as long as it didn't come unseated it should still be lined up.

So still having issues. Been throwing a 1st gear ratio code and just did pop up a P0701. I can't remember the code for 1st gear right now.

I pulled the pan and I have aBout .090 clearance on my c5. I don't have my manual here at the shop but I doubt this is right. What could I have done wrong to have a sloppy c5? To recap it was a gmax5r3 kit with pinwheel c3's.

If it helps any more I can rattle the thick apply plate? For c5 a lot more than I think it should rattle.

And I will be pulling the Tranny again. So whatever is up I will be tearing into it to fix it

P0701 is no pump pressure.

I understand that. I got that code once. Cleared it and the truck would move again. Wouldn't move while that code was active. Still getting the incorrect first gear ratio p0731code. Trans is back apart down to a bare case. Trying to figure out where I went wrong.

So far I've torn back into the rotating assembly. On c1 I'm getting .110 clearance. C2 is .077

It seemed my c3 c4 and c5 were all very loose when I checked it while tearing down. With my 5r3 kit I was sent .067 and .098 steels for c4 and c3. I'm assuming the steels are the same for both. I have 6 of the .098 and 4 of the .067 steel. 3 thicks and 2 thins in each clutch pack.

P0701 is no pump pressure.

What could cause no pump pressure? It happened one time on start up out of like the 50 times I started it. And it had sat for a while. I did the transgo mod for drain back. Should I check the oring on the valve? I know the old one was super tight and didn't want to come out and the new one seem a little looser. Maybe I'll check see if I can find an oring in the kit that's a little tighter while I have it apart.

P1 sun gear. Does the inner lip install towards bellhousing or rear? I have it towards the bellhousing now. Hoping this is correct. Trans times says install it from the back side and it will only go one way with the c3's installed so I'm hoping it's kinda idiot proof. But any more I'm thinking I'm kinda an idiot at building this thing.

And trans times Says install bellhousing 1st. Suncoast says opposite. Which way works best? I did bellhousing first on the first go round.

what was the issue?

A p0731 and once a p0701 popped up. Truck will go to neutral after being in drive for about 5 seconds.

I've had it apart and changed some things in c3 c4 to get them a little tighter. They are both at about .075 now. They were looser than that before.

P0727 input speed no signal. Getting that code now. Tore trans down and fixed eveything I had wrong. Confident trans is built right now.

With p0727 my input speed reads but it is very very lazy. I have a new pigtail and sensor to replace them tomorrow. As well I'm going to check the converter dimples with a camera while it's apart. When I replace the pigtail does it matter which wire goes to either side of the plug? I can get a diagram if it does matter. The new plug I have has a black and yellow wire and I know the truck isn't the same.

Will this code cause basically stupid shifts? It still doesn't want to come out of 2nd gear. And still bangs into gear really hard when you put it in gear. As well still does shift range inhibited. Drop in drive it'll go to neutral after a few seconds if the truck doesn't roll as soon as it's dropped in gear.

Finally, problem solved. Changed the pigtail on the harness today. Had my all data printout for which went where. Got looking, my wires weren't the same color. Pulled the plug for pto sensor. Had the pto and iss switched. Trans shift like a dream.

Had my fair share of mistakes In the trans as well. Last time I put it together I found I had the inside gear for the p2 planetary on the main shaft in backwards causing no end play. For sure a learning process.
