If you keep up the news, you'll note Apple and MS are both siding together to stop Google from entering their markets.
But did you know that Apple and Microsoft were in bed together in 1976-1980 when they both started?
My first programming experience was on an IBM 370 in HS through phone modem and teletype (no video screens back). To go further, they had a program where advanced HS students would go to the community college and use their equipment. Goldenwest College had Apple II computers in their lab that we used. These computers had optional CP/M cards in them (the great-grandaddy of DOS and the Intel/IBM PC's) and ran Business BASIC by Microsoft.
Now, why the heck would I remember this? Bill Gates answered his own tech support calls back then. It was in New Mexico. Apple told you to call Micro-soft (hyphened back then) if you had problems with Business BASIC.
Everything goes around in circles ...
