Help: Tried updating efi no its froze, or something.

tried to do the bbl v8.x update and everything seemed corect even got all the screens to show like on the efi website.

wen i plug into obd port i get the efi logo flash screen and a steady blue led and thats it.


if i plug it in to laptop and truck i can get it to be somwhat normal but not connect to the truck what so ever.

wht order did u do the update of versions does it show tht correct boot block and firmaware in the v2 ?

I upgraded it within the V2 first then selected the firmware and boot block updates from the efi explorer.

the V2 shows:
Firmware ver 2.06.05 oct. 28, 2998
and
Boot Block ver 2.05.04 oct. 16, 2007

Mike,

You need to load firmware version 2.05.14 in order to revive your flashscan. Go to program files, efilive, V8, documents, update flashscan and see page 10 for compatible bootblock and firmware versions. That document is gold.

Yea I found that on the EFI forum, but when I select that version file, it wont let me program it to the V@, its lokced in dead poll, and says its not connected.

mine was like tht to untill i updated the boot block to the most curent one it will stay in dead poll untill thts done. on a side not mine never said completed or anything like tht. and i belive in the instructions it says even if you get e mesege saying it was completed it may not be updated

Yea I just cant get it to connect to the laptop to even update it. I'm susposed to load the firmware thru the efi explorer correct???

the first set of firmware i belive is through the old updater start efi 7.5 firmware updater then after those updates do the newest ones and do those through 8.1 explorer its verry confuesing and im still suprised i updated mine ok lol at least ross is near by you

Tommys right, do not use EFILive explorer to program that version of the firmware. EFILive explorer will not recognize the unit at this point in the game.

Yep exactly how I did it, V2 first then the explorer. I got every screen to show up and seemed to be perfect folling EFIs read me's and forum. then when I got to the last point I plugged it to truck and laptop and it froze and now I.m at this point. Im all conused now. I saw post on efi where a guy had same type of proble, yet he was able to use explorer to go back to x.x.14, which I for some reason cant.

Not a real biggie, at least I have my race tune loaded lol.
