LMM: Transmission view plate

Was under the truck working on since things and was looking at the trans and I could see the torque converter. Is it bad that this plate is missing and where can I pick one up?

IMO not a big deal but I'd replace it too. GM or Allison dealer I'm guessing. It's a spring steel cover that you bend to install.

You could check with Allison, but they may want the serial number off the trans before they even talk to you...at least my Allison dealer says they need it. My guess would be it is a GM only part. The bell housing is for the duramax, and that is GM thing, not an Allison thing...

Good idea to have it on there- it will keep rocks and debris out of the bellhousing, and starter. Contact Mike L, or one of the trans builders, they may have one laying around.
