Hello everyone not sure if this is the right area but I just recently had problems with my 2005 lly transmission. My trucks been working fine no issues then suddenly I got in it to go home from a buddies house and when I put it in gear it was loud, clunk, jerked my truck I looked at the dash and the range selector didn't have a line under it like normal. I then looked at my edge cts2 and noticed my gear tcl wasn't showing. Glanced at the trans temps and they read 0 looked at the edge and it wasn't registering a trans temp. Then the abs/brake lights came on. And noticed when I put it in drive the doors didn't unlock. I tried to drive it home anyways since I wasn't too far but the truck stayed in one gear and never shifted. Went back to my buddies and with the research I've looked up it sounds to me like my nsbu switch is bad. Can anybody give me their inputs before I go spending money on parts I may not need.

Find someone with a Tech 2 that knows how to use it and check all control modules for codes. I'm thinking bad TCM or BCM.

Thanks for the replies. Will any lly tcm work mike? If it is the tcm where can I get a new one?

for testing purposes any 01-05 Tcm will work since your trans has the g solenoid. If you put an older Lb7 tcm in it, will just ignore the g solenoid there.

Any LLY TCM will work. If you use an early LB7 TCM, it will set a code for the G solenoid. Engine may not run smoothly and trans may not work properly. I would still diagnose with a Tech2 first before throwing money at it. Good luck.

Will do thank you mike! I'll be getting with you in the next few months for a trans build. My buddy has a lly that my trucks at I'll convince him to maybe try his tcm and check. And find someone with a tech 2 as well

Well I figured it out and got it fixed.. can't believe how dumb and small of a issue it was. Ignition 0 fuse in the interior wasnt pushed in all the way when I had my egt gauge installed by a shop and they put a add a circuit to that fuse and it wiggled loose. Replaced it with a new fuse and moved it to a different fuse location an no issues now. Thanks for the replies everyone
