Can someone fill me in on what it does. Is it like a shift kit or just different valves to protect the trans once you start adding power? How much HP is the stock allison good for? Stock HP is around 360 right so what can you go up to before you have to start modding the trans.

It is a shift kit and increses pressure to the C3 and C4 clutches.

The generally accepted "safe" increase is about 90rwhp over stock on the LLY, LBZ & LMM. Some have lived at higher levels, and some have died at lower levels. My LLY lived with a Predator 120 tune for well over a year before I first limped it. YMMV.

I just installed mine last weekend it wasn't too bad at all...just go slow and pay attention to where everything goes. This write up really helped me. Also if you have a friend that's willing to help for a little while that would be nice for initially dropping the valve body and putting it back in.

Boy I don't think I would make it through that. It would take me atleast two days cause I would get pissed and give up the first day. Maybe my red hair has something to do with that.:D

Has everyone burned up their trans once they tuned their truck. It wouldn't bother me but I don't think GM would replace it for me what is the cost of a new one.

I have raced about 20 times with 517 rwhp with just a transgo jr of corse I dont care if I limp it or not because Im gonna build it anyway but all you do is drain the fluid, drop the valve body, replace 2 valve, drill a hole in the plate, install everything, refill with fluid, its by far the best $180 I have ever spent on my truck

You sure make it sound easy. The trans is something I never messed with, I have rebuilt and swapped out motors and put lifts on vehicles but never messed with a trans. I seen one tore completely apart once it covered 3 work tables I knew then I didn't want to mess with them.

You dont have to take out the complete trans just the pan the computer and the valve body it took me about hour and a half to do it. I wish I had some pictures to show you
