Allison 6sp: transgo install now limp?

ok i installed the transgo jr on my truck today. got it all buttoned up and drove it about an eighth mile and it stopped pulling. sat for about a minute and the PRNDM1 light flashed and now is stuck in second. it has codes but i didnt have my scan tool handy so i will get them in the morning. what i am wondering is there any normal rookie mistakes that i may be overlooking? any help would be appreciated. ill get the codes up first thing.

One of your shift solenoids may not be all the way in. The clips will lock even if the solenoids is too far out. See if you can pull any of the solenoids in and out.

mmkay. P0700, P0757, P0848, P0872, P0877, P0756 are all my codes. dropped the pan and looked it over and to make sure all the plugs were tight. all the solenoids seem to be tight. put the pan back on and took my little blue point scanner and cleared the codes and drove it and its shifting like a beast. so. . just needed to be cleared out? anything else i should check? ive put a good thirty miles on it since i cleared it and no codes.

Sounds like your ignition switch was on when you unplugged the internal harness to do the shift kit. it will throw a bunch of valve body codes as the TCM will read open circuit on all the solenoids. You should be fine now.

I love this forum!

I know this is an old post, but a quick search solved my problem. I installed a Transgo Jr. and got a bunch of codes on startup. The ignition was on when I pulled the valve body. I cleared the codes and life is good. I was sure I was gonna have to pull the pan again.
