A good while ago i did like recommended and drained my transfer case and filled it with 3 quarts of 10w30 synthetic motor oil and now i have a small leak on the output seal. The dealer obviously blames it on being overfull and i told them there was a T.S.B. on it but i don"t think they have heard of it. Anyone else having this problem ? Truck has 66k miles.

Mine is now leaking. Anyone know if the seal can be changed just by removing the drive line or does the transfer case need to be removed?

Mines leaking as well. Also have about two inches of play side to side in the motor/trans/tcase .....is that normal or should the trans mount hold the whole thing pretty tight?

There was a bulletin for the rear plug of the yoke leaking for your model truck, It was the LMM's with the newer T/case that had a bulletin #2300690 that was for an updated extension seal.

#PIP4151A: Transmission Or Transfer Case ATF Leak At Propshaft Slip Yoke - keywords 6L90 fluid LCT 1000 MYD MW7 NP2 NQF NQG seal - (Oct 3, 2008)

Subject: Transmission or Transfer Case ATF Leak at Propshaft Slip Yoke

Models: 2007-2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 Series
2007-2008 GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 Series

This PI was superseded to update model years. Please discard PIP4151.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:

Some vehicles may have a concern of Transmission or Transfer Case ATF leak at the propshaft slip yoke welch plug. This condition may be mistaken for a leak from the transmission or transfer case output shaft seal. If necessary use automatic transmission fluid dye to help isolate the source of the leak. When diagnosing this concern, be sure to thoroughly clean the area and road test the vehicle to verify the source of the leak. The condition may be caused by burrs on the slip yoke welch plug, preventing a good seal against the yoke.

I found the seal was leaking not the yoke. So I replaced it with the factory seal. I'm going to Orlando this weekend so we will see how it does. :)
