More fluid = Less heat
If it doenst hurt it, run more fluid in it!!!!
Why do you think people add transmission coolers or larger oil pans????? MORE FLUID

More fluid doesn't necessarily mean less heat. It just means the fluid will take a bit longer to heat up..... that same theory is also gonna apply when the fluid gets too hot, its gonna take longer to cool off.

I cant see running more fluid hurting anything though.

Has anyone tried one of the 0W-20 in the TC? I'm thinking of running a little lower viscosity in the TC and Diffs to see what kind of mileage I get.

well you definately don't want to run to much fluid in your engine and transmision, but some things like transfers and diffs you can get away with more. but also you could start loosing fluid out your output seals if you put to much fluid in

Sorry, meant to say only if you upgrade to a larger pan, housing etc. I've learned about overfilling things the hard way... :D

Good thread guys. My pump rub fix is gonna be done Friday. I had bought a gallon of transynd to use in the TC..but may now think/research a bit about that. I don't have the TC hole yet, but I figure I may as well do it and be done with the TC except for yrly fluid changes and level checks.

The reasons stated for using motor oil sound reasonable to me though.

Ok..I just read the sticky on DP regarding fluid for TC...I think that given the low temps that my truck drives in during the winter..I'll stick with Transynd.
