I really liked it on my truck. I'm geared towards performance though. It did make the trans behave better in dd situations too but I don't know if it's worth the money for that alone.

I like my downshifts at lower throttle input, that alone is worth it to me but i tune myself. If you are looking into Kory's tune id say it is worthwhile, it also raises line pressure with torque.

With the sketchy tcm's in the 2011 LML's. Will it cause them to go out any quicker with a TCM tune? My TCM is still stock and I've had no problems with it yet.

My tcm had a existing problem I never knew about till tried loading korys tunes, they would load fine but when would limp soon as tranny temp was over 120 and couldn't flash back to stock. bought a new one and no probs so could possibly have some issues but they said mine was second one out of 150 back in February so would be pretty safe but may wanna check make sure tcms are not back ordered where then. Mine is a 14 model.

With the LML if you start turning it up any to speak if tranny tuning is very important. It will be the difference in liking your truck and the tuning on it or not liking several things about your truck. It is worth doing for certain.

I did a trans tune, I haul a horse trailer and it makes a difference when hauling, I don't usually hot rod, but on the more fun tunes, trans does seem to be more agreeable.

I got trans tuning and 3 months later the TCM went out and all the wiring needed to be replaced. Maybe it was just a coincidence, maybe not. but it didn't seem to make a big difference for me.

Sounds like hardware failure not software.

i wouldn't get trans tuning just to get trans tuning. now if there was a particular issue you are trying to address, then yes it may be worth it. shift points, many times are adjusted and depending on your situation can help DDing (or WOT) a lot.

my allison shift points are vastly different than stock. wouldn't be happy any other way :)

Then use the tow haul and or manual shifting and save your money if that's the only reason you wanted it.

It is my understanding that the 2011+ Allison controls the line pressure through the TCM, unlike all previous Allisons. Given that, a trans tune would be highly recommended any time you get an ECU tune to increase line pressure to match the increased torque, which will help keep the trans in one piece. Getting to adjust your shift points is just a bonus.

On the older trucks, I wouldn't do a trans tune unless you wanted/needed different shift points.
