Um what makes one think that the Alligator "kit" is different then any other "kit"? All I see different is the color of the Torque Converter and the price?

You have to ask yourself do you think these people are cutting their OWN steels and plates and gluing their OWN clutches . Or do you think that they are taking from here and there and making their own "kit" up making it look like they are doing something different?

Um it's all in the wrapper! ;)

I agree with you. That's why I went with it because it was cheaper then other kits. I think it's pretty much all the same just depends on who builds it for you

Not to prolong this but after I seen post #22 I wasn't clear if that was the case the all are aware of the "re-gifting" that goes on!

He asked Let me know how it runs ,I've heard good things! IMO if it's installed correctly it should run as well as any stage V kit that is available today for sale.

Now as far as doing it yourself if you can hook up with someone who has done a few successfully then you'll be good to go.They are fairly easy but lately some have ran into difficulty which makes some apprehensive suggesting a DIY. Just my observations.

(For the record the ATS suggestion was a joke.) ;)

ATS isn't as bad as everyone says they are. Just there work is.

This is an argument I've seen so many times on this board and like a lot of arguments usually a mix of both sides presented (politics aside) is close to the truth. My personal opinion is that there have been good and bad products shipped out that door. A big business such as ATS trying to cover the whole enchilada in diesel performance is in itself an Achilles heel. Quality control must suffer some as production demands need to be met. Trying to come up with a product for all of the big three must be challenging. Lot of people work there, big beast of a business to manage. Clint is not able to personally build transmissions himself as he is needed elsewhere to manage/oversee/R&D new stuff. He is a really smart man. An owner/operator such as Mike L has a great advantage in that his transmissions are built by his own hand and to his satisfaction. His quality is awesome/ensured because he is in direct control. He is not trying to do ten million other things. He is a specialist and a successful one. As far as ATS employees go, I'd love to see someone else besides Clint hire 100 plus employees (only pay them what that big business can afford) and get Mike L quality/attention to detail out of em. Many of my friends work at ATS AND ACTUALLY CARE about their job. I stick up for ATS 1. Because I personally got a great Trans from them almost 5 years ago (holding strong @ 600HP) and 2 because I don't think they completely deserve the bashing that has become so trendy here.

All that aside: they sell a shit ton of transmissions.......A lot of em... Yes some bad ones you've heard of with delaminating clutches ya ya old news everyone is imperfect in this world. How many go out their door that held up great? You won't hear from those people, they have nothing to bitch about. If their transmissions were all as bad as people say, they would not be sellin as many as they do and those seemingly underpaid employees wouldn't have a job.

I understand where your coming from to a point but if quality suffers because of the whole enchilada then he might want to rethink a few things as a disgripuntiled customer s the worst customer especially when it's a repeated failure.

Nonetheless there was no bashing unless you feel my comment was but it wasn't bashing as who would think ATS would install someone else's kit?

I also had a transmission that was working fine but I also had a very very costly failure. Since you have friends in the biz you get prefered treatment I'm sure. Lucky you!

I agree with you Mackin. I have had my problems with ATS. Clint and the rest of them at ATS are great people but sometimes the quality of the parts aren't the best and sometimes they are the best.
