My 11' got towed in to local Chevy dealer last Monday because tranny started acting weird. First I would come to a stop and tranny would not down shift. Than it would go into reverse but forward there was nothing some times. It also felt like it was hanging up in the forward gears. Dealer diagnosed it as 3rd gear clutch pack was bad. The truck is completely stock and I pull a 25' gooseneck trailer with my pulling truck on it probably about 20 times a summer. Has anyone else seen this with a stock LML?

I don't recognize those codes. Have someone hook up a Tech 2 or MDI and read codes.

It's already at the dealer getting fixed. They said parts will be there Monday. I will have to see what the parts list consist of when I get it back. I guess I think for the Miles's and how it's been driven that it should have not had any failures yet.

Well....got a call from the dealer yesterday. They said the found damage inside to the case and that they will be putting a complete brand new crate tranny in now instead of fixing my tranny. So looks like it will be another week till I get it back, but would much rather have a new tranny than a fixed one!

Update: Got a call yesterday that they finally got the new tranny and in the truck, but it is still acting weird and hunting for gears the service guy said. So now they are saying that the TCM is bad and that is what caused the tranny to destroy it self in the first place and that the TCM is not covered under warranty. I'm supposed to get it back today! Kind of missing the ole girl:(

Copied a post from DF:

After reading the comments about the Federal Emissions Warranty, I looked in My Warranty Manual. Sure enough, there it is. Covered to 8 years/80,000 miles. I took the book back to my dealer and showed them. They were unaware as this does not automaticaly show up on the warranty program they use. They gave me a full refund of what I had paid and appoligized for the inconvenience.

Got my truck back yesterday. It ended up costing me $747.45 out of my pocket for a new TCM and new transmission and torque converter. It cost GM over $9k! The tranny alone was $7800 plus the labor of removal and install.

This is the first problem I have had with the truck in 63,000 miles and hope its the last!

This is a classic example of mis-diagnosis by a dealer.
