We did the tranny on Saturday in my dually. We did the basic IV with the ML converter and the snake oiler kit. Fired it up with no codes, drove it and very impressed with this converter. Thanks Mike, for the help and such (as usual) great service and support. In the photos you will see Sean and Aaron. This is Sean's 5th Allison build. All of them are still working great after lot's of abuse.

Thank's Sean and Aaron for helping out on the build.

how long would it take to do a build yourself and do the kits come with understandable directions

For a first timer with hand tools, no lift and 2 people plan on 1 very long day or 2 short days. A lift and power tools make things faster, but on your first one probably not by much. They come with what I would call "supplemental" instructions - if you don't know what you are doing an ATSG manual would be the only way you would know what they were talking about in their instructions. If you aren't comfortable doing it I would recommend getting it done by someone who has a good reputation building allisons.
