trading my lb7 for newer? suggestions please

i have a 02 sierra lb7 with built tranny, ad2, intake, exhaust and i was thinking about trading for atleast an LLY just to get away from the injector issues that could be and also the 03+ have much better upgrades then the 99-02 and look better... i found myself trying to change alot of things to make it look like a 03+ sierra... would it be a good idea to upgrade my truck to a newer year? also would i high mileage LBZ(over 200k) be worth it compared to the injector issues that LB7 have?

If i were to upgrade, i would skip the lly and go for the lbz. Llys had their share of issues as well.

06-07 lbz or 07.5-10 lmm (dpf deleted) depending on body style desired and dont look back.

Injector failure is always in the back of my mind...if I found the right truck (which I am particular) I would upgrade just for piece of mind.
i think this is my biggest issue... i think i have the same problem as many other lb7 owners is injector failure, i like the truck i just dont want to always be thinking about injectors and the money needed to fix them and the 1st set wont be 2 bad because i would like 60% so the set after that would be bad!... my injector balance rates are great but still u never know... if i would have known more about these trucks i would have gotten an lbz, also would it be worth getting a high mileage lbz?

Just drive the truck and enjoy it. You may not have any issues with the injectors. I wouldn't go buy a truck based on a problem that hasn't surfaced yet (and may not).

LBZ won't have LLY cooling issues so that's my truck have no regrets best reliable 4x4 ever had and goes like a muscle car with EFI set too hi. Tranny hurts over 450 hp I guess so I leave mine in there but it does great on mpgs down there enough and still go good. Straight pipe exhaust, free flow air filter, will start a nice runner with EFI not bad because these trucks are old enough to buy now if you find one stuck in a garage that sells fast because the guy needs money is the ultimate find. Good prices on this LBZ but there are many choices.

Well when I upgrade it will probably be an LMM (I want the new body style).
From the outside looking in, I think the pistons in the LBZ (and LMM) are akin to the injector issues in an LB7 (higher mileage may only exaggerate it)...then we're back to the peace of mind thing.

Personally, with all things considered, I think the LLY is the best Dmax engine built. I know most may not agree.

For as much crap as LLY's get, I have never overheated mine and I haul some mf'ing loads behing it, dragrace it and just generally drive it like its stolen. A few buck, the right mods and its as good or better than the LBZ. Sure it lacks a 6th gear (40" tires fixed that for me) and somewhat stronger rods, but if peace of mind is gonna get dragged into this, whose to say an LBZ won't shit its pistons or pieces of them into the crankcase.

Every truck has is drawbacks or quirks, just gotta go with what you think you wanna deal with.

Im gonna go with what kungfu said... just drive it. If its nearly paid off or even is paid off, i'd stick with it before jumping into another truck

I couldn't ask for a better truck than LMM. If I wouldn't have gotten such a good deal on it I probably would have gone with an LLY or LBZ. Simple because if they ever start cracking down on dpf deletes in Texas I don't think I could drive this truck stock again. Plus it seems like the older body style trucks are built better inside, less rattling pieces.

I've had them all minus the lml I've abused them all equally! The 6 speed tap shift is great but now you can add that to the 5 speeds! I would choose the lly with tap shift!!

I have had 3 lb7's and 2 lly's and currently have 1 Lb7 and 1 Lmm. I like them all. The Lb7 doesnt scare me. If you have an injector issue fix it yourself or have somebody help you out. The dealer wants alot of $$$ to purchase and install injectors. There are plenty of vendors on the site that would give you a deal on parts. Your Lb7 is already modded a bit i would keep it!

I stoped worring about my lb7 about a year ago and that's cuz spit out the flex plate just rember ya gotta pay ta play with any of the trucks I would rather my injectors fail then a rod its a lil cheaper and nice to know the next fail im going to 45's

Keep it, I miss my LB7. Injectors are not that big of an issue. How many miles are on it?

and no dont sacrafice miles over injector issues. My parent LB7 is at 230k miles and only one set of injectors.
