Hey so I'm looking for advice. Probably going to be going to the track for the first time this Friday. I'm wondering if I should run my 22x10 American forces with proxies or put on a set of pyo's I have with some pretty worn bf Goodrich a/t?

I plan to clamp the springs and lower my pressure in whatever tires I use. Anything else I need to do for last minute prep?

I'm pretty excited and nervous!

How worn is worn? Track may give you some shit or tread depth.

Def run the PYO is tires are ok.

Well from what I've heard this track doesn't care. They don't require helmets, no jackets, you can have passengers in your car going down the strip, and your passengers are allowed to have beer...

I'm going to go look at how bad the tires are on the pyo's tomorrow.

What times should I expect? S480/s366 60 overs dual pumps

sounds like a good time. That'll end real quick when someone hits a wall and their passenger swallows a bottle.

Look in ATP's section, Verlon was doing a thread on racing tips. Lots of good info. There's also a very old thread on DP started by Ratlover that was extremely helpful for me way back when.

I'd be happy with 11s. Either way I just plan to go out and have a good time. We are getting a few decent trucks to go. Any other last minute things I should do to my truck?

Even though they don't enforce them follow the nhra rules just for your own safety. Also remember that accidents at track are not covered by insurance so it might not be worth running at this track. It sounds dangerous.

I'll let you know how it actually is. A lot of my friends have been and when I asked about safety gear they all laughed.

Do most people launch in first gear? Or can you get away with starting in second?

I lose about 2 mph in second gear but same ET. Just go have fun post your times and get a bud to record it:thumb:

Well it went horrible! Staging got the best of me :roflmao: I had a hard time getting the truck to hold back at the line when building boost. My converter is a stock stall right now so I'm going to have it restalled.

Either way even with my god awful times I had a blast and I'm hooked. The track was a lot of fun.

My wallet is going to wish I had stayed home!
