Ben, you mean to tell me the Audi has no low tire warning lights? My POS Buick has a dummy light for tire pressure. Shame on Audi for that one. Especially in a performance model.

On a side note I went to drive the Bimmer the other day after it was parked for over a week. Jump in, fire it up and I get a warning for low pressure. Check the TPMS menu and ALL 4 tires are low. By looking at them you cant tell. Push the sidewall, nice and firm. Go check them and 2 were only 4 psi low, one was 6 and the other was 12! With low profile performance tires you definitely cant tell. I wouldve never checked and who knows, after a trip or two the same thing might of happened. I, for one, love the technology.

Don't get me wrong, I think the technology is great, but I think it should be used to supplement your driving skills and practices rather than replace them. People are becoming more and more distracted and less aware of what is going on around them while they are driving, and I can't see most of this new technology doing anything other than making it worse.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but this is exactly the problem I have with new "safety features" being put in vehicles these days. I'm not going to act like I check my tire pressure as often as I should, but I make a habit out of looking at them very regularly and seeing if they are visibly low on pressure or have any abnormal or excessive wear or visual deformities/defects. I think cars and trucks these days are making drivers into mindless drones who simply guide their vehicle to it's destination, even more so than they currently are. Blind spot monitoring, automated parallel parking, automatic braking/accident avoidance, etc. People will and do rely on these safe guards and lose out on the basics of driving. Like I said, this is not an attack on you, merely an observation on how we are crippling ourselves and severely handicapping new drivers. It probably doesn't much matter because I'm sure it won't be too long before we don't even drive the cars, but instead are shuttled around by a computer controlled machine with no human input.

All these gadgets are great! Gives me more time to text ,yack on the phone ,drink and read the forum driving down the road! I cannot wait for the day I get to just jump in the back seat lie down and say HOME JAMES!!!

Yep what he said.

One of our supers was going to use my work truck to go get dinner since his was hooked up to a trailer. He came in 10min after getting the keys and said your light don't work... Well just before we left the yard one of the connections was lose. So I though damn it came lose again. Then I stopped and ask was one out or did I not have any lights? He said none. Well then it hit me since he is a a bit of a bone head. Did you turn the lights on? He said "Hummm No". See I have the one of the few trucks in out fleet without auto headlights..... He felt pretty dumb since this conversation happened in front of our whole crew. LOL

Wait a second...Ben has a girlfriend?!? :thumb: :hug::roflmao:

I was thinking the same thing. Man how times change. No wonder he is always so busy nowadays. He discovered girls.:thumb: Good for you Ben.
