Any of you guys with haulers/travel trailers swapped your inside/outside light bulbs for LED? How bright are they? Worth buying? I do lots of dry camping and not draining the batts is always a plus lol

Don't have a toy hauler, but I just replaced about %75 of my interior lighting. I was just dry camping for 4-days and my power meter bearly came down. Previously it would drop down two lights to just one light out of the three. Depending on the bulb style there is a lot to choose from. I bought two previous LED lights and they were soft white. The new ones I got are called daylight white color. Much better on the lighting. Its like a florescent light. I got them from Campng World, 6 for about $124.00. Theses are way better than the others. 25 LED 175 lumens. Fits BA15S, 93,1003,1141 and 1156.

Lol^^

I am thinking about swapping out the LEDs as well in my toy hauler, with the addition to a solar panel mounted to my roof so each day the batts get recharged.. I spend a lot of time on the beach so I don't have to worry about trees blocking the sun...

I've been staring really hard at the harbor freight 45watt solar panel setup. Just dunno if it's worth a damn

I've replaced a few lights in my trailer with led and they are definitely the way to go. I don't remember which kind they were but I do know you have to watch where you get them from. There are some cheap Chinese ones out there that will turn your trailer into the inside of a rave club when they start blinking un -controlably. If you're lucky you will get them shut off before you have a seizure lol.

I hate to buy cheap chines stuff but bought a bunch off ebay for my camper last year and have been great so far. Super bright ones are to bright for above beds and small bathroom though. Toyhauler is a 36' Raptor and has about 30 bulbs in it now.

from what im reading, it by no means will fully charge a set of batteries in a day if you use your lights alot or inverter for tv and what not. only thing i ever really use on batteries is my lights, radio and heater, rest of the time the generator gets kicked on. i wanna try the lights first as the reg lights pull a little over an amp per bulb where i was reading a guy with 4 LED bulbs was pulling just 1.5 amps with those 4 bulbs going

James what bulbs are in your trailer? If they are the 194s i have extras that i put in mine that work really well. There an smd and there brighter than normal bulbs. Some brands have all 194s and some have the 1057s.

Right I think between swapping to LEDs and the generator the solar panel should too off the batteries... In theory anyway, we will see.. But I'm in the dunes mostly so the trailer will have hours of no use but getting a charge from the panel while we are riding/drinking in camp

I like the lighting idea! Might need to swap mine out.

What do you think about the strip doors for the toy box? Thinking about using one to keep the AC going in the toy box area when I'm in and out for tools. I don't have a side entrance in my cargo area (17'), just in the living quarters.
