Towing mirrors?

I purchased them and put them on the truck. The passenger side mirror had to be returned because it had a poor connection and would stop working when I put the door panel back on. It worked fine with the panel off but not on. I really like them.

I just picked up these off of Ebay. Haven't installed them yet but they look really nice!

Think I'm gonna mod them to act as running lights also. Here is a DYI & Video showing how:
