While towing this weekend truck went into "reduced power mode" 6 times. Always happend in the middle of a grade or on the descent when you get back into throttle. I talked with company I got efi from and they said its going into fail safe mode because of excessive boost. They told me they could shut off the fail safe mode off but I would run the turbo out of its map. If I have them shut off fail safe and install boost guage and pay attention to it on the hills? How much can this stock turbo take? I understand that it's just making heat anything over 30psi. How much boost will the hg handle? Anyone else run into this issue with there LML while towing? Thanks Scott

Do you know what you're getting for boost?

What kind of tune

It is a VGT, so the only way it is going over boost is because the tune is asking for too much. Honestly, I'd think instead of turning the safety off, they would just tweak the desired boost or vane tables to get the turbo doing what it should. But I don't know much about LML tuning, except for it is a huge PITA.
