so I'm back to truck shopping and while i want a sharp truck,, i need to be a able to haul a gooseneck.
question is,, would a 05 CC/SB truck with a 6" lift and 35s work ok? the most i'll pull is our pulling truck and the other misc stuff associated with going to the pulls.

What is it that makes it a pain to pull a GN with a lift? Sorry for hi-jack.

U got tired of the lift? or tired of pulling with the lift?

Both....I lifted my truck about a month after I bought it brand new and it was just to drive. Now I actually use my truck and it was starting to be a pain in the ass. Plus I am getting into sled pulling/drag racing and a lifted truck just isn't real practical....anywho...

As long as the trailer you buy has a real high neck you will be fine, the neck on my trailer is really tall and there were quite a few times in and out of fields that I would have to re-group and go a different way or lose my bedsides. But as long as your paying attention it's not a real big deal.

and when I took my lift off it gave me a reason to buy a 5'th wheel:thumb:

What size lift and tires did you have on?? Just noticed you're in So. IN too. I'm right smack in the middle real close to Louisville, KY.

And the shitty thing is if you have 2 trucks that pull the same trailer. Then you set it to be level on one and it's wrong on the other, or you take it off the shorter one and back the tailgate into the trailer with the taller one. Pain in the ass. If your truck is the only one that will ever pull the trailer then you can modify it to make it work a lot better.

i have over 300k on my lly and i always pull trailers for work
ive never over heated trailers way 6720 and 12470lb that i haul

ive always had a 7" lift from cognito

IMO there is small tuning chages to optimize them......but great truck otherwize!

cool,,, I really wasnt worried too much about overheating,, I was worried about smashing bedsides or towing manners due to the lift.

The top picture is 35x12.50 x 18 Toyo MT's on the same wheels I have now...the bottom picture is 35 x 14.50 X 16.5 Swamper SSR's on Weld Super Singles. 6" Superlift and never had any problems with it!

I'm all the way in the very corner of Indiana, 10 minutes from ohio and 10 mintures from Kentucky....takes me about 2 hours to get to louisville
