towing 5th wheel weight

Just had a curt 20k 5th whl installed. They only put 1 bolt in the frame each bracket. Doesnt seem strong so im having it welded. Im picking up our 2013 keystone cougar 333mks saturday. Trailer weighs 10000 dry am I still okay on pulling it. Btw had the neens install tune on the 6.6 and feels really responsive.

Had the 25k husky slider out in my truck and they only put 1 3/4" grade 8 bolt in the rear of the bracket and 1 5/8" grade 8 bolt in the front of the bracket, tripped me out but I have pulled my 39' gearbox around plenty of times with no problems.. Guess it's all ergonomics nowadays...

GCWR should be 22,000...So max trailer weight is 22,000 minus whatever your truck weighs...

No the 25k or 20k is what the hitch is rated for, not what you can pull.

My hitch is rated 25k two bolts through the frame per side (2 on passengers and 2 on drivers) my trailer weight is 16k empty do I'm prolly pulling around 18k with the sideXside food fresh water yada yada

With your truck if you were legal to pull that then yes your hitch is rated for it..

DO NOT weld to your frame. Drill more holes and add bolts. The camper place that did my old one only put 4 bolts in. I ended up adding 4 more for piece pf mind. On my Lmm I got the Reese not drill brackets. They work well.

Crap had it welded and 6 out of the 8 bolts hope its ok.

how are those transport trucks pulling like 6 cars and a large trailer? Did they soop the motor or reinforce the frame in order to do that? By the way I broke my finger putting the egr block off plate in hahaha.
