I have been tagged 3 times for towing over 55 in Cal. Twice on I-5 in the Willows area of northern CA. One of those was a small U-Haul behind a little Nissan pickup I had back in the late 90's. Another time on 395 about 50 miles south of Alturas out in the middle of bum-F**k-Egypt. By a CHP who normally works the big rigs for over weight and safety inspections. It was the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I was towing my travel trailer with my 02 GMC Dmax. He pulls me over and asked if it there was any legal reason I was going 70 towing. I asked if it a multiple choice or essay question? He laughed and I said all I can think of was I was slowing down from the 80+mph I usually tow. Still got the ticket. Only tickets I have ever gotten in CA are for towing too fast. I don't believe you and get a ticket on I-10 between Indio and Blythe if your not towing. I was cruising along out there just under 100mph one day and got passed by a CHIP. Agree if the truckers slow down that is a good indication there is a CHP around.:thumb:

My Escort has saved my ass many a time. But you need to know how to read it to weed out the bad signals from the real threats. Agreed Laser only works in few situations.

I know first had if you are pulling a car hauler with a car on it, going 87mph the CHP will tell you to get out, search your LMM and rip you a new one and tell you he can impound your shit and take you to jail......:spit:

Only then to run everything, hold you up for a good 1/2 hour, then let you off with a warning and tell you to slow your Quote "ass" down :woott:

I slowed down to 65-70 after that pulling thru the state :D
