Allison 6sp: Towhaul not working.

Today I tried my Towhaul, I pushed the switch and nothing happened no light on the dash and it doesn't appear to be working at all.
I checked for codes and didn't find any. Will an Autocal read TCM codes? I really don't know how long it has been out since I haven't towed anything since last Oct.
I read another thread here that says the signal goes thru the BCM. Where is that located? I changed my fuel filters yesterday and after I went to the car wash and used the low pressure setting to wash off the fuel from bleeding the filter head. I let the truck idle while I was rinsing off the fuel.
Everything else seems to be working except my crazy D/S seat heaters that come on on their own.

I hope not I do have about half of the steering wheel control lights out too. This truck is falling apart My fog light switch is stuck too.

Yup, the orange wire in the column. Quite common.

Ok will this orange wire be broken close to the switch or down under the column where it tilts? How difficult is the turn signal are to remove?

You can pull the plastic off that surrounds the column and you will probably be able to see where it is broken. Mine has broken twice now, going to fix it again tomorrow. I just solder it back together and cover it with heat shrink.

x2 on the wire, had to fix my dad's 02 and mine. Both times the break was right at the base of the shifter.

It usually breaks right at the little black clamp/clip that holds the wire away from the tilt mechanism. I ended up cutting that out, soldered in two longer wires, and used a small ziptie farther down the column to hold the wire out of the way, so the stress isnt at that clip point any more.

Also had to fix orange wire under column on my 02'.

I had to fix it on my '00 as well, it broke right at the plastic clip.

Now to try to get the steering wheel switches out so I can replace them.

Still trying to figure out the fog light switch and the seat heaters that come on when they want.
