Gotcha.. I appreciate all your help and advice. I’m trying not to throw a bunch of money at the front suspension right now, but if it’s a concern of safety I will. The reason I just need to get by for a few more months like I said earlier was because I’m almost done resealing a Dana 60 from a 2008 super duty and I’m going to use the WFO kit to hang the axle. So at that time, all the current issues will be taken care of because it’s simply going to be cut off lol. For the time being though, I think I’ll keep an eye on those ball joints. I’ve checked for play and they’re still really good and tight as far as I can tell.

well you got a few options.

it has lift keys so the cheapest thing will be to yank them and throw stockers in. just be careful if you have raised shock mounts on the lower arms.

leave the keys and keep a very VERY close eye on UCA ball joint play but its going to ride like hell.

put a set of cognito or other type arms on meant for cranked front ends to allow for more suspension droop travel, keep the ball joints alive and get a better ride

or best way would be to put a 4" lift, lower it all the way and have the best of everything (better steering geometry to keep parts alive, same for suspension geometry, and a smoother ride over any type of cranked front end).

If I were to get about a 4” lift though, the pickup points between 2wd/4wd trucks are the same right? I don’t recall seeing many, of any, options for 2wd trucks around the 4” height.

since you are 2wd, you can get away with a 2 or 3" spindle lift. no need for drop down brackets and all that jazz. put stock keys in, make the yellow jouce bump stop just start to squish at ride height, then put the spindles on.

i had forgotten this option being you are 2wd

but to answer your question, yes, 2wd and 4wd are the same attachment points and so on.
