try this brian now im no expert and i know you have had 3 times the dmaxs i had but i would put the 90 ar housing back and call up about putting a gated pedestal on and what rpm can you stall your mlg-k

Even gated a .90 housing with a 83mm wheel is selling yourself short. The smallest I would ever run is a 1.0.

Ive talked to a lot of people and I know the 83 wheel is holding me back. the 1.10 housing was my last ditch effort to help the problem, but it hardly made am impact. I am done with the 83mm, just waiting for a turbo to pop up and see what kind of hit I am going to take on my current one.

This^^ I think you're leaving a lot on the table by choking out that 83 turbine. You would be far better off running the 87 or 96 with a tighter housing

I have a good friend that just changed from a S475/83/1.0 to a S475/87/.90 and said it is night and day difference, so right now I am done with the 83 wheel and looking at my options. I wont continue to beat on the truck until the current turbo comes off.

I knew they were bad but i was hoping de-torquing would help thanks for the info fellas.

Brian I imagine Mike has you setup with the Perfect Converter but did he know you were running a 475? I am just curious if a bit more stall speed would help you out of the gate and let the charger lite quicker?

Sorry to derail your thread Muff :eek:

Yeah he knew, but it was a crap shoot with the 1058 converter in the truck. I also thought a loose housing on a small wheel would remedy the problems I am having, but it only pushed the problem up in the rpm range. No one said it was easy :D
