I made enough hp to run a 10.86 @ nearly 125 mph with a weight just over 5300 lbs. That's with stock injectors and CP3. HP calculator puts it right at 700 to the wheels. That is stock turbo with nitrous.

I know I'm aware. I haven't been down the track on that tune though.

yes 650 is realistic with a large us tune. My 2750 us tune is around 600 based off track times vs weight. I would imagine a 3200 us tune would get you there.

Agree with 650. Just pulled up the old LLY tune when I purchased D boat and it was about the same us and timing as yours and others I seen posted here. With those specs and a larger turbo it was claimed to be making 650hp crankshaft, but I say it was 50/60 lite..

Updated with plus 50% sticks @ 2000us, and little less timing, she's happily making that number. Single CP3 with lift is maxed, 4094 turbo is maxed, but the real world water dyno says it gotta be there now...

I ran a s475 over stock turbo, dual fuellers, and stock sticks, I was 65 psi boost, and a stock LLY long block... I was starting in 3rd gear and swinging 4th gear while pulling. I had 34* timing and around 3500 us of pulse width... It ran pretty well for what it was 7 years ago. I knew a guy I pulled against dynoed 630 rwhp on Randall's Superflow, which is 680-690 rwhp on Fleece's or Danville's dyno, and he was finishing behind me by 15+ feet and couldn't hang 4th gear...

I guess my question is, can I hit that 700hp mark with s400, dual fuelers and stock sticks

How long did it last like that?

We only have 7 hooks left this season and it only lives on the trailer. There is a kid with us that has been running 800hp on stock rods all year

Made it til labor day weekend pull the second season, over 125 hooks, and around 8,000 hard street miles...

It cracked a piston, number 7 or 8, and broken rod cut csm in half and cracked block and damaged oil cooler... No hard feelings here, I got my use from her, plus that engine had 13,000 miles of 3400 us and 30* timing before that with a stock turbo and an occasional 50-100 HP shot of nitrous....

But hey, tuning is what cracks pistons, right? Lmao!!

800hp according to whom? The kid? I wouldn't believe him for one second unless we are taking about an LBZ or LMM but even then I dunno about that.

Our truck is 600 ish now, my friends truck is around 700ish and this guy is putting 15-25ft on my friends truck every pull, he wouldn't tell us what it dyno'd for a long time

Ya might bump it anonther 1-200us and see how it does.. All I can say is GM lowered the compression for a reason, and I'm a firm believer it was the right move. Big timing on the 17.6cr bottom end leads to piston holes ya can stick your finger in... I've fingered a couple in my younger days.... lol

And it's crazy to think where we started with these trucks way back when!!! 550-600hp was dangerous for stock motors and now we have guys running them upwards of 1400hp track proven and lasting a good while.
A lot of that was figuring out how to tune them reasonably correctly and finding/fixing weak links in the process.

I went looking because I want to know roughly what the limit for well supplied stock LBZ/LMM injectors with a sportsman CP3 (that didn't really exist 10 years ago).
I needed that knowledge to know how well I need to build the short block and transmission to not care about the power.

IIRC, 580/11xx on stock everything other than manifolds/uppipes. 3100us, 31* timing

Those were the days!

Hi Mike! Hit a million miles yet?
