I'm trying to find a Thompson 1927A model semi-auto but can't find any used ones around, only the replica's which are going for around 2 g's new. I honestly don't care if it is a replica or not as long as it is a functioning firearm.

It's just a cool gun I would like to add to the collection but I don't want to pay new price for it so if any of y'all see one at a gunshow or pawn shop for a reasonable price in good operating condition please let me know.

Good Luck. They are no where close to being reasonably priced. Those days are long gone.

gun broker is your friend when it comes to this stuff, although not sure gun broker is really anyone's friend.

Anyways, it is going to be the fastest way to find something like this.

Here is an example.

What kind of gun laws do you guys have up there anyway? Can you import stuff like this without any problem?

I don't know if it is legal or not. I can't remember if it has to be 22cm or 22" barrel. And I know if it's fully auto it's not legal. But these are all minor details. If it's disabled, and shipped in pieces I should be able to get it and claim it as a non-functioning replica.

Dealer cost runs $800-$1500. If it's legal up North I don't know. Sending one over the boarder, probably a major ordeal. If you lived over here, I'd sell you mine for $800.

Disabled usually means the receiver is welded up or torched, so not really an option.

It looks like you are shit out of luck. http://www.panda.com/canadaguns/

And any further discussion is not really a good idea.

you can get a parts gun with a cut reciver for $800. i dont know about your laws but you than can buy a dummey reciver for $200 and with a little machineing have a function reciver. But most of the parts guns are full auto you would have to modify the gun into semi which could cost a little more.

I think you need to re-read that attachment. First off it says FOR AMERICANS!! :D

Only thing I see is that it can't be fully auto. Semi-Auto ones are available and out there and is what I want. http://www.tommygun.com/PA-1TH_t.html Also I would have to but a blocker in the drum so it won't allow me to load more than 5 rounds.

Read further & follow links.

There are four basic firearm classes: Non-Restricted, Restricted, Grand Fathered Prohibited and Prohibited. The are six different classes of Grandfathered Prohibited classes. To be eligible for a licence to have any of these classes you must have possessed a firearm in that class prior to the deadline date. To maintain eligibility for these classes, a firearm in that class must be continuously possessed. Any break in possession will take the person out of that class.

All six classes are separate. Simply because you are in one class does not make you eligible for another. If you do not currently possess a firearm in a grandfathered class, you can never enter the class, excepting possibly the 12(7) class. The six classes are:

12(2): FA - All Full Automatic firearms are Prohibited Firearms

12(3): CA - All Converted Automatic firearms are Prohibited Firearms

12(4): Prohibited Weapons Order # 12 - Named Prohibited Firearms - A small class. Examples are: Sterling MK6, Steyr AUG, MAC 10 and Uzi

12(5): Prohibited Weapons Order #13 - Named Prohibited Firearms - A large class. Examples are: FN FAL, HK, AK47, MP5 submachine gun etc.

12(6): .25 calibre and .32 calibre Handguns, and any handgun with a barrel less than 105mm/4.14" long, registered before 14 Feb 1995 (This date is in the process of being changed to 1 Dec 1998, but the law has not changed yet) - all are Prohibited Firearms

12(7): 12.6 handguns manufactured prior to 1946 - They are inheritable by immediate next of kin.

This Canadian Law

Your best bet is the dummy gun. Anything done to it once you have it, is YOUR ass.
